Vietnam Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation (FHS), one of the largest steelmakers in Vietnam, announced to increase its hot-rolled coil (HRC) price by US$35/ton for March last Friday.
Affected by the international increasing trend, the rising prices from FHS were the same as the market expected.
The market was currently focused on whether Taiwanese China Steel Corporation (CSC), the leading steelmaker in Taiwan, would follow the trend, and CSC responded that they were still evaluated now.
Due to the short-supply of HRC from Vietnam, the demand from the market of HRC was expected to turn strong from March, and that’s the main reason why the international HRC prices increase so much currently.
