According to an announcement of the Mexican Ministry of Economy, Mexico has decided to extend the anti-dumping (AD) duties on carbon steel plates originating in Romania, Russia, and Ukraine.
These AD duties originally entered into force in September 2005. This measure was maintained due to Altos Hornos de México (Ahmsa)’s request, saying that the removal of duties would lead to continued injury on Mexico’s domestic market.
The AD duty rate for Romania was maintained at 67.6%, that for Russia was 36.8%, and 60.1% was for Ukraine’s exporters of subject products.
This AD measure will be valid for five years, starting from September 22, 2020.
The products involved are under HS codes 7208.51.01, 7208.51.02, 7208.51.03, 7208.52.01, 7225.40.01, and 7225.40.02.
