India rescinds China, EU coated coil anti-dumping measures

India has rescinded anti-dumping duties on imports of colour-coated and pre-painted flat products from China and the EU, according to an Indian Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) notice.

The duty, imposed in provisional form in January 2017 and made definitive in October 2017, was equal to the difference between the landed value of these imports and $822/tonne. It was valid for five years until January 2022 (see Kallanish passim). India initiated last July a sunset review into potentially extending the duty.

The products in question fall under HS codes 72107000, 72124000, 72259900 and 72269990; however, the dumped imports were also observed in certain other HS codes.

Last week the Indian government also decided to remove anti-dumping duties on imports of hot-rolled flat products originating in or exported from China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Brazil and Indonesia. Moreover, it rejected the recommendation to impose definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of cold rolled coil originating in or exported from China, Japan, South Korea and Ukraine.
