US makes preliminary AD ruling on Mexico’s rebar

According to the preliminary results of anti-dumping (AD) duty administrative review made by the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), it was preliminarily determined that Deacero S.A.P.I. de C.V. (Deacero) didn’t have shipments of steel concrete reinforcing bar (rebar) at prices lower than fair value to the US during the period of review from November 1, 2019 to October 31, 2020. Therefore, Deacero was assigned a 0% dumping margin.

However, the USDOC found that some Mexican producers and exporters have a fact of dumping, so it preliminarily assigned Grupo Simec an AD duty margin of 66.70%, and Grupo Acerero and Sidertul received a duty of 33.35%. The cash deposit rate for all other producers or exporters was maintained at 20.58%, the rate set in the investigation of this case.
