According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), crude steel production in the US reached about 81% of installed capacity during the first nine months of 2021. In the same period last year, the utilization was only 66%.
In October, the World Steel Association projected that US steel consumption will increase by about 15% in 2021, compared to 2020. By 2022, the figure was estimated to increase by about 6% versus 2021.
