According to the EU's General Final Disclosure Document, the EU is going to impose a 23.9%-89.8% anti-dumping (AD) duty on fastener products originating in China. The final ruling will be on February 17, 2022, based on the information of the European Industrial Fasteners Institute (EIFI).
According to EU customs statistics, China is the EU's largest source of imported fasteners. In addition, the import price from China has been lower than the EU market price for a long time. Based on this, the European Commission believed that the imports from China have led to a significant drop in the EU's output and sales, which impacted negatively on the EU fastener industry.
Therefore, the EU decided to impose AD duties against China's fastener products. This new measure will bring great advantages to Taiwan's fastener industry. After the AD duty announcement, Taiwan's fastener industry can have more export volume to the EU.
