India maintains AD duty on hot-rolled wire rods from China

India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has recommended continuing to impose anti-dumping (AD) duties for 5 years on certain steel imports from China to protect domestic manufacturers from cheap imports.

DGTR said there will be a continuation of dumping and injury to the domestic industry if removing the existing duty on imports of certain bars and rods, hot-rolled, in irregularly wound coils, of iron or non-alloy steel or alloy steel from China.

The duty rate will be between the landed value of the goods and USD$546 per ton. If the landed value is more than USD$546 per ton, then AD duty will not be imposed.

The current AD duty will last until January 2022.
