According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkish steel mills exported 1.43 million tons of coated steel at a width more than 600 mm from January to August, increasing by 300,000 tons compared with the same period of last year. Among them, the EU was the major export market.
The export amount of hot-dip galvanized products rose in Turkey due to the strong demand from the European market, especially South Europe. However, European buyers began to concern the EU decision of anti-dumping (AD) investigations on Turkish hot-dip galvanized products.
The European Commission (EC) started an AD investigation on imports of hot-dip galvanized coils from Turkey and Russia in January. The result will be announced on December 24, 2021, and the EC is likely to implement temporary measures and launch the final measure on January 24, 2022 and July 20, 2022, respectively.
