Australia starts second AD & CVD sunset review on hollow structural sections from 4 countries

On September 22, 2021, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission announced that it has started the second anti-dumping (AD) sunset review investigation on certain hollow structural sections from China and the second countervailing duty (CVD) investigation on the same products from South Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan, following the application filed by domestic companies Austube Mills Pty Ltd (Austube Mills) and Orrcon Manufacturing Pty Ltd (Orrcon).

The companies involved in the AD notice don’t include South Korea’s Kukje Steel Co., Ltd. (Kukje), and the CVD notice applied to all exporters of subject products from China except Dalian Steelforce Hi-Tech Co., Ltd. (Dalian Steelforce) and Huludao City Steel Pipe Industrial Co., Ltd. (Huludao City Steel).

The period of AD and CVD investigation was from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

The products involved are under HS codes 7306.30.00.31, 7306.30.00.32, 7306.30.00.33, 7306.30.00.34, 7306.30.00.35, 7306.30.00.36, 7306.30.00.37, 7306.50.00.45, 7306.61.00.21, 7306.61.00.22, 7306.61.00.25, 7306.61.00.90, and 7306.69.00.10.

The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission will make a recommendation of the final ruling of AD and CVD sunset review to the Minister on or before February 24, 2022.
