India has started a sunset review probe into steel wire rods imported from China. On behalf of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, Steel Authority of India Limited, and JSW Steel, the Indian Steel Association showed the concerns about the recurrence of dumping if the anti-dumping (AD) duty ends this year, requesting the review and continuation of imposing the duty.
The preliminary AD duties on China’s steel wire rods were firstly imposed in 2016.
Besides, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) said Tata Steel Long Products Limited and Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) also supported the request.
The products cover both alloy and non-alloy steel wire rods for those are used in industries including automotive components, welding electrodes, and general engineering.
The investigation period is from October 1, 2019 to March 31, 2021.
