Vietnam to impose AD on galvanized steel from China & South Korea

According to the report, Vietnam has announced that it will impose temporary anti-dumping duties on galvanized steel imports from China and South Korea, effective April 15. The products subject to these duties include galvanized steel, specifically flat-rolled carbon steel products in both coil and non-coil forms, with a carbon content of less than 0.6% that have been treated with galvanizing or metal coating.

Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade announced on Tuesday that it launched an anti-dumping investigation in June 2024 at the request of five major domestic steelmakers: Hoa Sen, Nam Kim, Ton Phuong Nam, Ton Dong A, and China Steel & Nippon Steel Vietnam. The investigation will last for 120 days.

Chinese steelmakers and their affiliates will face tariffs of 37.13%, while South Korean steelmakers will be subject to tariffs ranging from 13.7% to 15.67%.
