Xpeng posts strong delivery growth amid overseas expansion

Chinese smart BEV maker Xpeng reported a 268% annual growth in its March deliveries, as it continues to surpass the 30,000-unit monthly rate.

The company delivered 33,205 smart EVs last month, driving the Q1 volume to 94,008 units. This is 331% higher than the first quarter of 2024, Kallanish learns.

Despite the intense competition in the Chinese market, Xpeng is boosting its production and delivery capacities. At the centre of its success is its AI-defined mobility offerings.

It has recently launched 2025 versions of the Xpeng G6 and G9 SUV models. Both upgraded versions come standard with 5C AI batteries and Turing AI-powered smart driving features across all trims.

The carmaker, which develops its full-stack advanced driver-assistance system tech and in-car intelligent operating system in-house, continues to expand its global presence. In March, it entered the Indonesian market, following its UK debut in February.

In Europe, it currently operates in Germany, France, the UK, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Ireland. The plan is for the company to be present in over 60 countries and regions by year-end.

Xpeng says its high-level advanced driver assistance system, the so-called XNGP, reached an 86% user penetration rate in urban driving in March. This is a service available in China.
