Tosyalı Algerie has dispatched its maiden hot rolled coil shipments to Tunisia, Spain, and Italy, the firm posts on social media.
“With our high production capacity and green steel production capabilities, we continue to meet the needs of the domestic market while strengthening our position in international trade,” Tosyalı Algerie states.
Turkish parent company Tosyalı has its own pipe manufacturing operations in Spain, though it was not confirmed whether the shipment to Spain was an intra-company sale.
According to media reports citing Tosyalı Algerie’s director of foreign trade, Ezzi Ramzi, the Algerian mill exported 30,000 tonnes of HRC to Italy, at a value of $16 million. This would equate to $533/tonne, Kallanish calculates.
Tosyalı Algerie commissioned HRC production last autumn, following the start of slab output in May. The first slab was exported in August.
