Taiwanese producer of galvanized and pre-painted steel Prosperity Tieh Enterprise (PT) entered the nonferrous metal business a few years ago by acquiring a copper-strip complex supplied by Danieli Froehling, which was not operating at that time.
The first step undertaken by PT was to contract Danieli Automation to upgrade the electrical and automation system for the whole cold complex, to restart processing of high-quality coils in an integrated production cycle.
Now, Hung You Copper –the PT company running the copper complex– relied again on Danieli technology and ordered a new 20-hi mill to be installed at the same site in Kaohsiung, and produce thin strip / foil products.
Copper and copper alloys in widths up to 800 mm will be rolled in coils weighing up to 15 tons, at speeds up to 800 m/min.
The core equipment of the new Danieli Fröhling mill will be manufactured, assembled and pre-tested at Danieli HQ workshops.
Electrics and automation will feature Danieli Automation advanced solutions, such as the HiPAC automation system for real-time, automatic thickness and flatness control.
The 20-hi mill is scheduled to start operation in Q3 2026.
