On February 12, in Cairo, Minister of Education and Technical Education of the Arab Republic of Egypt – Abdel Latif, and Minister of Education and Merit of the Italian Republic –Giuseppe Valditara, exchanged letters of intent to create a joint platform to promote the convergence of the Egyptian and Italian educational systems in the fields of vocational education and training.
The two ministers witnessed the signature of the several agreements, including:
a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Italian Embassy and the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Italian-Egyptian Job Centre, followed by a MoU between the Italian Agency of International Cooperation and the Federation of Egyptian Industries in the fields of vocational education and training (TVET).
Agreements between AICS and ENI in the frame of the programme “TEJPA – Improving Technical Education and Job Prospects through ATS model”, and the Italian Embassy in Cairo and IOM on the project “PLAY 2 Providing Positive Life Alternatives to Egyptian Youth” were also reached.
A roundtable dedicated to “Education for prosperity: a business perspective” was also part of the event.
The model of the Italian Higher Technological Institutes (ITS), institutes of excellence with high, post-diploma technological specialization connecting the field of education and the world of work and production was presented for consideration. A particular focus will be dedicated to training campuses, territorial networks that strengthen the technical supply chain, training and employability of young people also in foreign countries, including Egypt.
Paola Perabò, director of human resources of the Danieli Group and president of MITS Academy Udine, attended the event presenting the supportive experience of Danieli to the ITS, and the collaboration of Danieli with high-schools and universities, worldwide.
The ITS has obtained excellent results in preparing students, establishing itself as one of the top national higher technical institutes.
Strongly promoted by former Danieli chairman Gianpietro Benedetti, the multifunctional center built by Danieli at the Study Center of Udine will house the new premises of the academy with modern classrooms and laboratories, fostering the learning by doing¬ concept.
Part of the social corporate activities and support to the families of Danieli employees, Danieli established and manages its “Educational Hub Zerotredici” whose activities are very appreciated by students and families for the high quality of education, with focus on soft skills and teamwork.
