Malaysia has extended anti-dumping duties on imports of stranded steel wires for prestressing concrete from China, with exports from the country subject to a 21.72 per cent duty.
Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry said the anti-dumping duties were imposed following an administrative review initiated after an application by Southern PC Steel Sdn Bhd on behalf of the domestic industry.
The government conducted the review to determine the existence of changes in the dumping margin for imports of the specified products from China, specifically from producers or exporters such as Tianjin Dalu Steel Strand For Prestressed Co Ltd. and Silvery Dragon Prestressed Materials Co Ltd Tianjin.
Imports of steel wires for prestressed concrete into Malaysia will be subject to duties of 9.07 per cent for Silvery Dragon and 3.12 per cent for Tianjin Dalu.
"The Royal Malaysian Customs Department will enforce the collection of the revised antidumping duties effective Feb 5, 2025 to Dec 24, 2026," it said.
