On-site machine overhauling timely executed by Danieli Service
After 20 years of operation, AcerBrag called for the overhaul of the Danieli-supplied fast-finishing block overgear in operation at its wirerod mill in Bragado, Buenos Aires province, Argentina.
Eight subcontractor companies were involved for a complete refurbishment of the machine –under the coordination of AcerBrag and Danieli Service– to remove the equipment from the rolling line, execute civil work, and rework mechanical parts.
Inspection, components replacement, including Danieli original spares like gears and bearings, dimensional control of housings and body, and vibrational control measurement were performed.
Self-propelled cranes and precision workshops aided with machining of parts during the revamp.
According to schedule, after 21 days the machine was ready for efficient, reliable, safe operation and the rolling mill production restarted.
