The Mexican Ministry of Economy (SE) has decided to impose an anti-dumping duty on permanent and temporary imports of carbon and alloyed micro-welding steel wire from Vietnam, regardless of country of origin, Kallanish notes.
As authorities announced in the country’s Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on Monday, Vietnamese products classified under HS codes 7229.20.01, 7229.90.99, 8311.10.99, 8311.30.01 and 8311.90.01 will enter Mexico under a 36.23% ad valorem duty.
SE accepted the reason from petitioners, Mexico's Electrodos Infra and Plásticos y Alambres, that entries of said products were made in significant volumes and under conditions of price discrimination, thus causing damage to the national industry.
The investigation involved the period February 2022 through January 2023, whilst the injury analysis was focused on the period between February 2020 and January 2023.
