Since 2023, China's steel exports to Southeast Asia, especially Vietnam, have continued to rise.
In 2024, China became Vietnam's largest goods supplier, with steel exports reaching historic highs. However, increased exports have led to more anti-dumping cases. In response, Chinese steel enterprises must focus on stimulating domestic demand, particularly in the steel structure sector, which is seeing rapid growth.
China's "dual carbon" policy has created more opportunities for steel structures in low-carbon, green building projects. As the domestic demand for steel structures grows, especially in infrastructure, the focus should shift towards high-value-added products, and increasing domestic market share will be key to sustainable long-term development.
