Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade is to reduce the anti-dumping duty on H-beams from Chinese steelmaker Heibei Jinxi Section Steel Co to 13.38% from the current 22.09% rate, Kallanish notes.
The change was announced on 25 November as a result of the mid-term review and will take place15 days after the announcement.
Involved products are under Vietnam HS codes 7216.33.11, 7216.33.19, 7216.33.90, 7228.70.10 and 7228.70.90.
This change will also be applied to four related trading companies: Heibei Jinxi International Trade Co, Hebei Jinxi Iron and Steel Group Co, Tianjin New Asia Prosperity Proprietary and China Oriental Singapore Pet.
Existing AD duties are unchanged at 31.24% for Rizhao Steel Holding Group Co, Rizhao Medium Section Mill Co, and Baohua Steel International Pet while for other Chinese exporters it remains at 33.51%.
These are due to expire on 5 September 2027.
Vietnam first imposed AD duties on Chinese H-beams on 5 September 2017 before being extended for another five years from 6 September 2022.
Vietnam imported 87,286t involved H-beams from China in the nine months through September, up 76.8% year-on-year. The share of Chinese supplies reached 79%, up by 3.5% y-o-y.
