Indonesia extends anti-dumping duties on Chinese sections

Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance has announced that it is to continue to impose an anti-dumping duty on H-section and I-section steel originating from China, Kallanish notes.

This is the third time the tariff has been extended for five years since it was first implemented in 2010. The tax rate is set at 11.93%.

The products involved are under HS codes 7216.32.10, 7216.32.90, 7216.33.11 and 7216.33.19.

In the nine months through September this year, Indonesia imported 17,465t of the products, slumping 59.4% from a year earlier. The share of Chinese supplies, meanwhile, rose from 57.6% to 64.5%.
