Malaysia begins review of anti-dumping duties on cold rolled stainless steel imports

The Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) has initiated an administrative review of anti-dumping duties with regard to imports of cold rolled stainless steel in coils, sheets, or any other forms from Indonesia and Vietnam, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam.

The decision follows reports received by the government indicating that Bahru Stainless Sdn. BHd, the applicant in the original anti-dumping case, ceased its production activities on June 30.

The move prompted MITI to reassess the need for existing anti-dumping measures on these imports.

The Malaysian ministry said that interested parties who wish to participate in this administrative review may provide their views in a written form and additional supporting evidence to it by November 15, 2024.

In the event the interested parties do not provide the necessary information, or the information and views are not received in an adequate form within the specified time limit, the government may make its determination based on the available facts, it said.
