Egypt has begun an anti-dumping investigation on imports of cold rolled coil, GI & PPGI from China and Türkiye, Kallanish notes.
Following a documented complaint submitted by two companies, Al-Obour Metal Industries Company (Galva Metal) and Kama Metal Coating and Processing Company, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade examined and approved the advisory committee's recommendation.
The authorities report they found sufficient evidence that imports from certain countries – China and Türkiye – sold at dumped prices, had harmed the local industry.
The investigative authority evaluated the accuracy and sufficiency of the data in the submitted complaint.
On 25 September, the Chinese and Turkish embassies in Cairo were informed about the acceptance of the complaint.
According to a document published in the country’s Official Gazette (EG) on 31 October, the investigation has been launched.
