India initiates AD probe into HRC from Vietnam

India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has launched the anti-dumping (AD) investigation on alloy or non-ally hot-rolled flat products for widths up to 2,100mm and thickness up to 25mm.

It was the request from the Indian Steel Association (ISA) to represent the domestic steelmakers JSW Steel Limited and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Limited.

The complainants claimed the subject products from Vietnam are being sold at dumped prices which leads to material inquiry into the domestic industry. They also said the domestic industry faces the threat of further material injury due to the dumped imported products and required the imposition of AD duties on products from the relevant countries.

The investigation period is from January 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024. The injury assessment period is from financial years 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23.

The HS codes of the subject products are 7208, 7211, 7225, and 7226.
