According to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan exported nearly 2.6 million tons of steel products in June this year, dropping by 6.5% compared to the previous month and by 8.5% from the same month a year ago.
In the first half of this year, Japan’s steel exports amounted to approximately 16 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.5%. Among them, exports to South Korea accounted for the largest proportion, totaling 2.45 million tons, down by 20% year on year. Thailand ranked second with 2.08 million tons, a year-on-year reduction of 13.7%.
