Colombian steel consuming sectors urge AD duty on Chinese galvanized steel not to exceed 15%

On July 19, the Colombian government imposed an anti-dumping duty of 29.9% against galvanized steel from China, followed by a request in April of this year for an investigation into the case by national steel producers, such as Acesco and Corpacero.

Initially, the petition requested a rate of 80.2% against galvanized steel plain sheets and 37.2% against galvanized corrugated roofing sheets.

However, the steel consuming sector's union, the Colombian Chamber of Steel (CAMACERO), requested that anti-dumping measures not exceed 15%, because the steel market in Colombia has a deficit of 1.8 million tons.
