Brazil has initiated an official anti-dumping investigation on imports of steel wire rope (SWR) from China. This is according to a document from the local foreign trade secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Industry (Secex/MDIC) monitored by Kallanish.
The investigation was requested by Belgo Mineira Bekaert Artefatos de Arames in January arguing that there is sufficient evidence of damage to its performance and domestic production in general of entries of Chinese SWR. The said product is classified under HS code 7312.10.10.
The period of investigation is October 2022 through September 2023. The ministry determined the analysis period is from October 2018 to September 2023.
