GravitHy partners with IDOM to build decarbonized iron plant in France

GravitHy has chosen Spanish engineering firm IDOM to develop a decarbonized iron production plant in Fos-sur-Mer, France. This project will advance to the FEL 2 engineering phase in 2024. Completion of this phase will help GravitHy refine the project's capital expenditure, secure financing, and prepare for basic engineering (FEL 3) in 2025.

Construction of the plant is slated to start in 2026, with commissioning expected in late 2028. The facility aims to produce 2 million tons of low-carbon iron annually using decarbonized hydrogen generated on-site. This intermediate product will support steelmakers in producing low-carbon steel.
