Zeekr officially lands in Indonesia, Malaysia

Chinese new energy vehicle company Zeekr announced it officially entered the Indonesian and Malaysian markets simultaneously, Kallanish notes.

The carmaker owned by Geely Holding said in a statement it has signed cooperation agreements with Indonesian firm PT Premium Auto Prima and Malaysian firm Sentinel Automotive.

Its first store in Indonesia will be in Jakarta, and then will gradually open stores in Surabaya, Bandung, and other major cities of this country. 

“Indonesia, also known as the Country of a Thousand Islands, has a vast territory and a large population. Indonesia is not only the largest country in Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), but also ranks among the top major economies in the world,” comments Zeekr.

In Malaysia, its first store will be located in Kuala Lumpur. Later this year, other stores will be open in major cities such as Selangor and Penang. The carmaker described the country, “in the heart of Southeast Asia” as a hub for companies to connect with the ASEAN market and the developing EV markets in the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.

Zeekr has entered over 25 mainstream markets around the globe. It is targeting a sales footprint with over 50 international markets this year.
