Leading Chinese hydrogen solution provider Shanghai Hyfun Energy Technology (Hydrexia) has recently signed a technology collaboration and commercialisation agreement with Malaysia’s LHSB.
The latter is the renewable energy and hydrogen arm of Malaysian state oil company Petronas, Kallanish notes.
Under the agreement announced by Hydrexia, the companies will jointly promote hydrogen development in Sarawak, Malaysia. They will carry out research and development towards the commercialisation of hydrogen technologies in stages.
Key areas of cooperation include hydrogen purification, storage and transportation, as well as the construction and operation of hydrogen refuelling stations.
LHSB says it’s committed to developing advanced hydrogen production facilities and supplying electrolysers globally. It has an electrolyser assembly and distribution facility to support various industries seeking hydrogen solutions and promote their low-carbon goals.
Hydrexia will provide its professional capabilities in hydrogen energy technology, products and cross-industry chain solutions to help explore the application potential of hydrogen in different scenarios. The aim is to inject “new vitality” into the local hydrogen industry.
“We are excited about forming this strategic partnership with LHSB. It not only further expands the scale of our business expansion in Southeast Asia, but also adds significant depth to our local business operation in this region,” comments George Gan, ceo of Hydrexia Southeast Asia. “The collaboration with LHSB enables us to best utilise our hydrogen technology solutions to serve the needs of our customers in Malaysia. We look forward to expanding the cooperation with LHSB going forward.”
Details on the collaboration remain undisclosed.
