Production of the four major home appliances in China - air-conditioners, washing machines, televisions and refrigerators - all rose on-year during January-March, according to new data released by the country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
In the first quarter, China's production of air-conditioners ranked top among the four appliances in terms of both volume and on-year increase, with the production volume of 68.78 million units being up by 16.5% compared to the same period last year, according to the NBS data.
Regarding exports, air-conditioners, washing machines and refrigerators all posted on-year growth in export volume in Q1, with refrigerators logging the highest on-year rise of 34.4%, while the export volume of televisions saw a slight on-year decline of 1.7%, data released by China's General Administration of Customs (GACC) showed.
