Zaporizhstal, Ukraine's fourth-largest steel maker, said that it had completed the first phase of the overhaul of the No.3 blast furnace. In this crucial maintenance operation, the company replaced the upper gas shut-off valve. The replacement in time could make sure the facility could operate safely and in continuity.
Because raw materials and energy supply and logistics routes were blocked during the war, Zaporizhstal's production performance greatly declined compared to pre-war levels. In 2023, its capacity utilization rate was at an average of 70%.
