Colombian authorities have initiated a review of existing anti-dumping duties on imports of Chinese-origin line pipes used in the gas and oil sector. This is according to a document from the foreign trade secretariat of the Colombian Ministry of Industry (Mincit), monitored by Kallanish.
The current review follows a request from local producer Tenaris TuboCaribe.
The authority has found evidence of dumping and damage to the domestic industry by imports of line pipes, seamless or welded, with a nominal external diameter equal to or greater than 60.3 mm and less than or equal to 219.1 mm. Mincit determined the period of investigation should be from October 2022 to September 2023.
During the review, Colombia will continue applying 35.9% and 33.13% ad valorem duty on imports of Chinese-origin products classified under HS codes 7304.19.00 and 7304.19.00, respectively.
Anti-dumping measures were first imposed in February 2021.
