Severstal has started an investment project to modernize the No. 3 heating furnace "Mill 2000" at the hot rolling mill of Cherepovets Steel Plant (CherMK, an important asset of Severstal Steel).
The entire project investment exceeds 6 billion rubles, which will greatly improve product quality and energy efficiency.
Mill 2000 is one of the key units of the technology chain, producing approximately 65% of CherMK's products. The new furnace will help to further increase rolling volumes, improve production efficiency, and be environmentally friendly – reducing the formation of carbon monoxide.
