South Korean steel manufacturer Dongkuk Steel has obtained the international standard Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its rebar, section steel, and heavy plates. The products involved are five types, including straight rebar, wire rod, H-beam, hot-rolled steel plate, and non-hot-rolled steel plate.
As part of its mid- to long-term growth strategy "Green Steel", Dongkuk Steel gains the EPD to strengthen the product's environmental management capabilities and improve export competitiveness. Besides, the acquisition of this certification will also improve the steelmaker’s product competitiveness in export regulations such as the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
