In order to support the domestic industry, Turkey set new import tariffs on various steel products, effective on January 1, 2024.
The changed import tariffs would apply to a total of more than 4,000 products, especially iron and steel products.
Among them, alloyed galvanized sheets with a width of 600mm would be imposed an additional customs duty of 20%. Hot-rolled sheets with a width of 600mm would face a tariff duty increased to 15% from the previous 11%. 600mm cold-rolled sheet would be imposed at a rate of 17%.
Besides, the tariff duty on stainless steel cold-rolled sheets was increased to 12% from 8%.
