Taiwanese stainless steel manufacturers Walsin Lihwa and Yieh Hsing have hiked list prices of their 300 series products for January, Kallanish notes.
The two companies have added TWD 2,000/tonne ($65/t) on 300 series stainless steel wire rod. However, quotes for other types of stainless steel are kept unchanged.
The price increase is to reflect rising costs. Walsin Lihwa also expects stock replenishment by end users to increase gradually after the long-term destocking has come to an end.
Meanwhile, Tang Eng Iron works again decided to take an individual negotiation method with its customers for its offers in January, referring to peer pricing and market conditions. This is the ninth consecutive month the company has chosen to do this.
