US carbon plate prices remain unchanged in the final week of 2023 amidst a few sporadic sales.
“The past week has been pretty slow, and I expect the balance of this week to be slow too," says a Midwestern distributor. "Mill pricing is still all over the board. Nucor is highest, followed by Cliffs and SSAB.”
Prices continue to transact within the $1,310-1,400/st range.
The distributor tells Kallanish: "JSW and Evraz remain on the lower end of the range. We’ll see whether Nucor announces an increase for February. I believe most are preparing for one, but time will tell.”
Prices in the equivalent week of 2022 ranged from $1,460-1,490/st.
All prices are ex-works domestic mill.
