Mexico’s Ministry of Economy (SE) has imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of Chinese steel bolts and screws, Kallanish learns. According to a document published in the country’s Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on 22 December, SE has placed a compensatory duty of 8.02% on entries from Chinafar, 17% from Haiyan, Lianyungang, Longyu y Zhejiang, and 48.08% on material coming from all other Chinese exporting companies.
The investigation began on 9 July following a complaint from local supplier Grupo Clavos Nacionales and covers imports of low and medium carbon or alloy threaded steel rods without tempering, with a diameter from 6.4mm to 38.1mm and a length equal to or greater than 152.4mm.
The products are classified under HS codes 7318.15.99 and 7318.19. 99, and were landed between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022. The consequent injury analysis is focused on the period between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2022.
