The EU is considering restarting a case against the US at the World Trade Organization (WTO) regarding a dispute on steel and aluminum import tariffs that were imposed during the Trump administration.
It was understood that the EU hopes to extend the settlement and avoid the reimposition of tariffs on exports worth billions of dollars next year by reopening the WTO case.
Valdis Dombrovskis, the Executive Vice President of the European Commission, earlier said that the US should ease tariff quotas on steel imports from the EU if the tariff quotas are extended beyond the end of this year.
