On November 14, 2023, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) started a sunset review investigation of the anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD) on certain cold-rolled steel originating or exported from China, South Korea, and Vietnam.
As a result of the CITT’s expiry review, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has initiated a sunset review investigation to determine whether the expiry of the measures is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and/or subsidizing the subject products.
The CBSA will make a determination no later than April 12, 2024, and the Statement of Reasons will be issued by April 29, 2024.
The current AD duty rate for China, South Korea, and Vietnam is 91.9%, 53%, and 99.2%, respectively. The CVD rate is 11.6% for China, 11.3% for South Korea, and 6.5% for Vietnam.
