The Indian government has launched an initiative that the domestic steel makers will add ‘Made in India’ labels to promote their locally produced products to the global markets.
In the first phase, all major Integrated Steel Players (ISPs) and 65% of steel products have been successfully involved in this initiative, introducing the brand and label of ‘Made in India’ steel products in the global market. The Secondary Steel Industries (SSIs) and more products will be included in the next phase.
In addition to making Indian steel products more attractive to buyers, this initiative will also ensure the standardization of product quality.
According to the government’s statement, ISPs-QCI (Quality Council of India) portal Application Programming Interface (API) integration has also been completed for label and QR code authentication.
