Russia’s automotive company Motorinvest, which began mass production of the Evolute electric cars last September, plans to begin production of the Evolute i-VAN minivan in November, Kallanish notes.
The electric van with rear axle drive is equipped with a permanent magnetic synchronous motor with a peak power of 122 horsepower. The 67.5-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery provides a range of 400 kilometres. Slow charging time is 15 hours, and in fast charging mode, the battery is replenished from 30% to 80% in 37 minutes.
The electric minivan, Evolute i-VAN, is suitable for both family trips around the city and for business purposes.
In January-September, around 1,410 Evolute electric cars were sold in Russia, which provided the brand with absolute leadership in sales volume in the EV segment with a share of 18.1%, according to Autostat.
Evolute became Russia’s first EV brand, last year. Currently, the product line is represented by the i-PRO sedan, the i-JOY crossover and the recently debuted i-SKY crossover coupé. By the end of 2023, the Evolute line-up will be complemented by two new products: the i-VAN electric van and the i-JET premium sports crossover.
In 2022, the sales volume of domestic Evolute EVs amounted to 452 units, after the company started selling its first units in October 2022.
Overall sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in Russia increased 51% on-year in September to 1,159 new units. In January-September, sales amounted to 8,078, up 23% on-year.
