Vietnam launches final AD probe on stainless, coated

The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade will proceed with a final review anti-dumping investigation on certain cold rolled stainless steel imports from China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan. The products are currently levied anti-dumping duties of 10.91% to 37.29%. At the same time, the Ministry will also start a final review on anti-dumping measures on pre-painted galvanized products imported from China and South Korea. The existing duties are 2.53% to 34.27% on Chinese and Korean imports (see Kallanish passim).

The investigation will affect stainless products categorised under HS codes 7219.32.00, 7219.33.00, 7219.34.00, 7219.35.00, 7219.90.00, 7220.20.10, 7220.20.90, 7220.90.10, and 7220.90.90. Vietnam first imposed these duties in 2014 and extended again for another five years from October 2019. They are due to expire in October 2024.

For colour-coated steel imports from China and South Korea, the targeted products are classified under HS codes 7210.70.11, 7210.70.19, 7210.70.91, 7210.70.99, 7212.40.11, 7212.40.12, 7212.40.19, 7212.40.91, 7212.40.92, 7212.40.99, 7225.99.90 and 7226.99.99. These AD duties came into effect on 24 Oct 2019 and will also lapse in October 2024.
