German-based SMS Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesian steel firm Gunung Raja Paksi (GRP) to drive green steel development initiatives in Indonesia, Kallanish notes.
SMS says in a statement that the move symbolises the duo's commitment to advancing sustainable steel industry procedures and processes through digital solutions.
"We believe that this collaboration will bring positive changes to the Indonesian steel industry. We hope to explore innovative and sustainable solutions that will help reduce the environmental impact of steel production," says Argo Sangkaeng, president director of GRP.
Bernhard Steenken, co-chief sales officer India and Asia Pacific at SMS, agrees the collaboration should have a positive impact on the steel industry in Indonesia.
