Mexico decided to impose provisional countervailing duties (CVD) on imports of cold-rolled steel originating in Vietnam. The measure will enter into force on September 14, 2023.
According to the Mexican official document, the CVD rate for Hoa Phat is 12.77%, that for Posco Vietnam is 25.64%, and that for all other exporters/producers is 81.06%.
The products involved are classified under tariff items 7209.16.01, 7209.17.01, 7209.18.01, 7209.26.01, 7209.27.01, 7209.28.01, 7209.90.99, 7211.23.03, 7211.29.99, 7211.90.99, 7225.50.91 and 7226.92.06 of the TIGIE, and they may under tariff items 9802.00.01, 9802.00.02, 9802.00.03, 9802.00.07, 9802.00.13, 9802.00.15, and 9802.00.19 of the TIGIE.
The period of the investigation was from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021, and the damage analysis period was from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2021.
The administrative investigation was initiated based on a complaint filed by Ternium México on February 18, 2022.
