The Indonesian Anti Duping Committee has initiated the third sunset review on hot rolled plate originating from China, Singapore, and Ukraine, in response to a request submitted by PT Krakatau Posco, Kallanish notes.
The products involved go under HS codes 7208.51.00 and 7208.52.00.
After a two-year investigation, Indonesia started to impose AD duties on HR plate from the above three countries on 10 January 2012. The measures were then extended in 2016 and 2019.
The AD duty rate against the products from China is 10.47%, and from Singapore it is 12.5% and from Ukraine, 12.33%.
In the first half of the year, imports of HR plate from the three countries totalled 190,220 tonnes, which was equivalent to about 52% of the total and surged 433% on-year. Within this, shipments from Ukraine were negligible this year.
