Taiwan’s steel exports drop in H1 due to China’s dumping steel

Due to the deterioration of the oversupply of China’s steel mills, a large number of steel products were dumped overseas at low prices, seriously affecting the production and sales of related products in neighboring Asian countries.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Finance, Taiwan's exports of basic metals and their products totaled US$14.7 billion in the first half of the year, a year-on-year decrease of 26.8%, and the export volume also dropped by 22%.

Among them, the export volume of steel and its products decreased by 27.8%, and that of other steel and its products decreased by 25.2%.
