Voestalpine AG, one of the Austrian steelmakers, indicated that it would suspend its No.5 blast furnace at the Linz mill to do maintenance from August to October.
Voestalpine's Linz mill has three blast furnaces, and the annual capacity is 5 million tons of pig iron. Among them, the annual production of No.5 blast furnaces is about 840,000 tons.
Voestalpine's Linz mill mainly produces steel applied in automobile sectors, accounting for 38% of total Voestalpine's steel supply by revenue. In the 2022/23 financial year, the company's steel division revenue was EUR 6.6 billion.
