Construction of seven steel bridges in Pos Gob to be completed in Aug, says JKR

The construction of seven steel bridges in Pos Gob here began on July 22 last year and is expected to be fully completed by the end of August, said the Public Works Department (JKR).

JKR said the scope of work includes construction of the bridges, two culverts and road upgrading work, which is 75 per cent complete.

"The steel bridges at Sungai Teramok, Sungai Blaer and Sungai Sengnang have already been completed, while the steel bridges at Sungai Bed, Sungai Taboh, Sungai Kawod and Sungai Pelat are still under construction," it said in a statement on Sunday (July 9).

JKR said the construction of culverts in the tributaries of Sungai Teramok and Sungai Peningcong has been completed.

Previously, the media reported that residents of the Orang Asli in Post Gob claimed that the work to build the steel bridges in seven locations instead of the wooden bridges they currently use to conduct their daily business had been delayed and were supposed to be completed last February.

The problem resulted in them still using logs as bridges to cross several streams to go to Gua Musang town.
